Should there be a new Wind Farm at Sheephouse Heights?

Evelop UK Limited has proposed a five turbine wind farm 2km North West of Stocksbridge and 10km south west of Barnsley.  The wind farm has a potential electricity generation capacity of up to 15 MW, which could supply the equivalent of approximately 9,000 homes per year.

The application was originally submitted in May 2008 and the proposal was assessed by a number of consultees including Barnsley Council and bodies such as Natural England, the RSPB and the Highways Agency. This consultation period raised a range of issues which have required further assessment.

Feedback from this discussion will be passed on to local decision makers involved in the planning decision.
